Is a 120Hz LCD TV better than a 60Hz LCD TV or are they just pulling my money?

Question by dholncc: Is a 120Hz LCD TV better than a 60Hz LCD TV or are they just pulling my money?
Aren’t humans supposed to see higher than 60 cycles per second of frame rate. Or is this for another purpose?

it is better coming from a gaming standpoint, but as far as watching tv or dvds it will make no noticeable difference

Samsung 40″ LCD TV 60hz vs. Vizio 42″ LCD TV 120 hz. which one is better?

Question by esoryram: Samsung 40″ LCD TV 60hz vs. Vizio 42″ LCD TV 120 hz. which one is better?
The Samsung is $ 499 and the Vizio is $ 549. I already bought the Samsung just to secure the low price for Black Friday. The Vizio is still out at Costco…should I return my Samsung and get the Vizio?

I don’t think I’ll be watching much sports but will be watching some HD channels that comes with my service. I won’t be getting NBA TV or NFL Network but will be hosting main events like Super Bowl or NBA Finals. So I’ll be rarely using it. I’m not a huge BluRay or movie watcher either. I just needed a better TV then my 19inch 90′s tv haha.

What do you guys think?

Bad Tv… Bad Remote… Bad Service…

I bought this TV from Walmart after reading CNET editor choice review. I paid delivery charges and when I tried to start this out of box new product it did not start. I have never seen anything like this in my life. A brand new product not working …

I guess CNET editor’s reviews are paid reviews …

VIZIO is smart to spend money on it because people trust on online reviews more than TV ads .

I called their tech support they don’t know if the problem is in the TV or remote. the support guy was very rude. he is going to send me another remote after 10 days … still waiting … he told me to try with new remote (10 days waiting and still waiting ) after that he will judge if the problem is in the TV or remote.

I don’t have a choice here, I also wrote to emails addresses available on their website but no response …

Q&A: is the dynex 40inch 1080p 60hz going to last me a few years?

Question by Joey B: is the dynex 40inch 1080p 60hz going to last me a few years?
I know that Lcd Hdtvs only last 3-5 years. I also know Dynex brand isnt the best. Can anyone tell me how long theres lasted or any detail about the dynex brand?

Best answer:

Answer by The Eagle Keeper
Dynex is the house brand sold at Best Buy only. In all honesty they are really cheap imports. I cannot see those junkers lasting you very long at all. They are made in China of course. I would suggest you look for a used Sony XBR series TV. One of their finer creations. I have one that is 2.5 yrs old & going strong. Still looks as good to this day as it was when it was new.

What is a typical response time or best for a 60HZ LCD?

Question by We need mafia back screw hogan: What is a typical response time or best for a 60HZ LCD?
My TV is 3ms response time it says, but also it’s a 120hz LCD,
is the reason my LCD has a 3ms response time because of
the 120hz refresh rate.

Best answer:

Answer by King Julien
Yes. The better the refresh rate (120hz) the better the response. I avoided the problem all together by buying a DLP and not an lcd or plasma. 60 hz are any where from 5-12ms. Theres no standard for measuring these things. You really just have to watch the tv and decide what looks best to you.

Should i get the Vizio 32″ Class 720p 60Hz LCD HDTV Bundle package at Walmart?

Question by Anthony G: Should i get the Vizio 32″ Class 720p 60Hz LCD HDTV Bundle package at Walmart?
I am pondering on getting the Vizio 32″ Class 720p 60Hz LCD HDTV Bundle package with the free home theater system and HDMI cable. I am a new tv buyer and see this as a good deal. What should i look for? I got a ps3 and i want something that is durable and has good quality.

Best answer:

Answer by tommy
when you go to the store, some people dont mind but look at the difference between 1080p and 720p witch will give you a better pic quality and sometimes its worth getting the 1080p verse a add on theater system. specially if you play video games like me you want the best picture possible.

How do i switch my HD samsung 1080p 60hz LCD TV, TO HD MODE?!?

Question by Jaypunz: How do i switch my HD samsung 1080p 60hz LCD TV, TO HD MODE?!?
My tv currently isnt on HD, and what channel do i go on to play my xbox 360

Best answer:

Answer by TV guy
A HD TV is always in HD mode, but you need an HD input and component or HDMI cables to see HD (or an off-the-air antenna).

Connect your xbox360 via Component cables (R/g/b + w/r) to one of the component inputs and then switch the TV input source appropriately.
