Looks good to me. Basically a computer monitor with a built in TV. Good for bedrooms, or small apartments. It’s a little expensive for something with a contrast ratio of 160000. But, buy it, try it, and if you don’t like it, return it.

Best 40″ LCD 1080p 120Hz HDTV?

Question by Diana: Best 40″ LCD 1080p 120Hz HDTV?
I’m from Canada, fyi.

So I’m in the market for a 40″ LCD HDTV, that is 1080p compatible and 120Hz. What is the best quality LCD that fits the bill currently? And out of those what is the best value? Some bonuses are USB compatibility. My budget is preferable something that will be around the 1000 mark when it goes on sale. But flexible, just not anything crazy.

The Samsung B610 for 1100 is okay for a non-sale price. B640 is also for the same price, but sold out. How does this compare to the 40XV645U REZGA? I am a little hesitant about sonys due to the fact they consistently get low reviews on various models on bestbuy/futureshop.ca
In response to Plasma:

I know that in terms of quality panasonic plasmas win hands down, but i want something that is low maintenance.

The Samsung would be the best choice. I still consider the Plasma tv as having the best picture quality and more reliable than an LCD tv. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews from last September. It compared the Panasonic 42″ Plasma to a Sony, LG, Toshiba and Vizio LCD tvs. The Plasma was the top choice and no further adjustment required out of the box and the only tv that was a THX certified. You will also notice that Panasonic tv was in each price category of entry to the high end. While Samsung and Sony did not, and the rest did not make the list. Hope this will help you out.

You need the proper remote for the Toshiba, or buy a universal remote and program it for the Toshiba.

Which HDTV is better for gaming, Plasma or LED LCD? (Best Picture)?

Question by madmrmike81: Which HDTV is better for gaming, Plasma or LED LCD? (Best Picture)?
Samsung 55″ 8 series LED LCD TV is by far the best picture I have witnessed myself. However, I keep reading reviews that plasmas offer better pictures for movies. Can someone that has actually personally seen these TV’s tell me which one has the better overall picture quality?

Overall, I’d select a plasma for gaming and video, as the lag in LCDs can really ruin your gaming pleasure….so stick with “tried and true”.

Does anyone have a Toshiba 40RV525U 40-inch LCD HDTV?

Question by James: Does anyone have a Toshiba 40RV525U 40-inch LCD HDTV?
Or something like it?? I’ve been looking at this one and the price is cool and the quality seems good. I had an old Toshiba TV years ago and it’s still reliable and running good! Any pros or cons? Is it a good buy?

Best answer:

Answer by TV Tech 1
Weeeellllll….at least it’s NOT their DLP TV set…

I have found that 3-4 year old DLPs from them aren’t supported anymore by the company, and they have another company actually refurbish their boards.

And the refurbisher really really Sucks!

I just had to send a Light Engine back to them because they MISSED SOMETHING in the rebuild.

And it’s happened MORE than once…

I won’t buy it, I’ll stick with Sony, LG, Samsung, Panasonic…they don’t do that.
