Hm. There is a "HD ready" sticker at the top-right corner. I thought that’s only reserved for 720p tellys, but evidently 1080p’s can also be "HD ready" instead of "full HD".

Only want to spend upto £500, been to Comet so far seen an Samsung LE40B530P7WXXU but review say poor sound quality, I ‘ve never had a samsung only had an Panasonic LCD in the past.
Can anyone help?

All HD tvs have poor sound quality, so your best bet is to hook any one you get to an external sound system. Even a small, stereo bookshelf system will sound much better.

As for the LCD tvs. Samsung would be the best with Sony second best. The others are not as good pic quality.
