Is it fine if my LED 40″ Samsung TV is above a garage?

Question by Phiba P: Is it fine if my LED 40″ Samsung TV is above a garage?
I just purchased a LED 40″ Samsung TV and it will be sitting in my room, which is above the garage.
The garage opens probably 5-6 times a day and my room does feel the vibration of it. In the long run, is this bad for my tv?? If so, what should I do that can’t prevent any future damage that would affect the hardware or performance of my TV?
I would be using a tv stand and not a wall mount.

Unless this is truly some earth-shattering vibration caused by the garage door opener, your TV should be fine.

Question by alan m: broken tv screen (40 inch hd widescreen lcd samsung)?
My friend put a large crack on my 40 inch lcd tv, it cost 800 and the home insurance is covering a replacement. I have to pay 250 pounds excess, well my friend does.
I am allowed to keep the old 1 but is it worth while getting it repaired? I was told it would be around 350 to get it repaired but is there anyway I could get it fixed on the cheap? Or could the parts be sold as it is only the screen damaged?

Best answer:

Answer by tinicum54
If it is a 40″ set, I assume it is a projection type and the screen is broken. Only way to be done cheaper is to get the screen assembly yourself and replace it on your own. That can be tricky though. If it is just the screen I would have it repaired if I couldn’t afford the exceess money. The electronics probably are ok, IF IT IS a cracked screen.

Samsung 40″ 1080p 60hz LCD TV – never once reviewed?

Question by : Samsung 40″ 1080p 60hz LCD TV – never once reviewed?
I have googled the specific model number, LN40B500, and I cannot find one customer review for this television. It is advertised under Best Buys Black Friday ad, and this specific model # is not being sold at Samsung.com, so I’m tryin to check out some customer opinions – and there are absolutely none!

Is this TV brand new? Or crap TV’s made from spare parts for Black Friday only? I just cannot believe there is not one customer review to be found!

Best answer:

Answer by jf
My guess is that its actually the LN40B530. The pricing and specs for it seems to fit the B530 model. Is it some kind of cheaper parts knock off? I don’t know. I hear rumors that such TVs exist, but no concrete evidence. Like I haven’t seen any consumer watch dog type of group or reporter actually claim as much, only people on the Internet.

What I think this could possibly be is a wholesale model being sent to Best Buy for liquidation. If you look at Wholesalers like Costco or Sam’s Club, they’ll often have unique model #’s for TVs that you are 100% sure is actually some other model number. I don’t know why they do that, but I see it happen all the time. So perhaps this B500 is one of those. I’m not 100% certain, but being that they’re trying to sell volumes of it at a discounted price, I think a wholesaler model would make sense.

Can you disable the 120hz feature on the Samsung LN60C630 60-Inch LCD or the Samsung UN60C6300 60-Inch LED?

Question by : Can you disable the 120hz feature on the Samsung LN60C630 60-Inch LCD or the Samsung UN60C6300 60-Inch LED?
I find that the 240 Hz and 120 Hz makes movies look like live TV. Before I buy a new TV I want to make sure I can turn the hz setting off.

Best answer:

Answer by TV guy
You can’t turn the “hertz off”, but you can turn off motion estimation (it will simply repeat the frames). Look for a feature such as “True Motion” or something similar – They usually have settings like (off, low, medium, high) and the term “motion”.

I may be wrong but Netflix is a web based service. the connection problem you encounter is may be due to a internet connection faillure, not cable connection (hdmi or whatever).
have a look on your manual and dig up information about internet connection.

PS3 HDMI Help with Samsung 40 inch HDTV?

Question by : PS3 HDMI Help with Samsung 40 inch HDTV?
For Christmas I just received a 40 inch Samsung flat screen HDTV and I have a PS3. I got an HDMI cable, and connected it from the TV to the PS3. Now when I have the regular yellow, red, and white cables in, the PS3 works, but it looks pretty bad. When I try to connect the HDMI cable, a black screen and nothing else appears, and it’s really annoying. Any tips on how to make it work? Thanks!

Answer by bbt91945
You have to set your PS3 to output the video and audio via HDMI cable. Hope this will help you out.

I am not familiar with mac but this is what I found out.

The best image you will get would be if you went with a miniDVI to DVI and a DVI to HDMI connectors.
