Sony 46″ LED LCD 120HZ OR Sony 40″ LED LCD 3D 240Hz?

Question by James K: Sony 46″ LED LCD 120HZ OR Sony 40″ LED LCD 3D 240Hz?
I’m struggling between getting:

Sony KDL46EX710 – 46″ LED LCD 120HZ
and
Sony KDL40HX800 – 40″ LED LCD 3D 240Hz?

40″ might be just enough for my living room, but it’s nice to have 46″…..
Now, both are on sale for $ 799! The market price at amazon and ebay for both are over $ 1100 up to $ 1800.
The 40″ has 3D (which I might not use) and the 240 Hz (I don’t know how much difference (significance) this will make compared with 120Hz).
With Passive 3D TV, and glassless technology, I’m just worry that this 3D TV might just be the thing of the past…..
Now the only reason I still think about the 40″ is probably because of the quality and the higher market price? I guess my question is if the quality of 40″ KDL40HX800 much22 better than the 46″ KDL46EX710.
I’ve been thinking about this for days. If anyone think the 40″ is worth more (better deal), I’ll just keep what I have now ( I bought it but I can still return it). Any suggestions will greatly be appreciated

Thanks

Q&A: Would a 40″ 1080p Sony Bravia LCD HDTV be good for gaming?

Question by Jon: Would a 40″ 1080p Sony Bravia LCD HDTV be good for gaming?
Would a 40″ 1080p Sony Bravia LCD HDTV (Model number: KDL40V4100) be good for gaming? Specifically Halo 3 on xbox 360? I’m really into this game but am interested in purchasing this tv. Would the lag of such a big tv/the size itself hurt my gameplay much?

How can I hook my BOSE companion speakers 2.1 to my SONY Bravia BX4 40 HDTV ?

Question by RaimiTrackRecords: How can I hook my BOSE companion speakers 2.1 to my SONY Bravia BX4 40 HDTV ?
I bought my TV recently and I have these amazing BOSE speakers, which are basically “computer speakers”, but I used it with my previous standard TV and DVD player. The sound is amazing and I want to use these speakers with my new SONY Bravia BX4 40 HDTV, but I don’t see any headphone jack on my TV, how am I supposed to hook up the sound to my speakers?

Thanks for your help

Chances are that thing has a single audio out… it’s most likely an optical connection. You’d most likely need a receiver to connect to it (the 5.1 surround sound kind). It’s not cheap.

What surround sound speaker system do I need for a Sony V4000 40″ LCD TV?

Question by kaliharry: What surround sound speaker system do I need for a Sony V4000 40″ LCD TV?
What ones might be compatible?
I have Sony Blue Ray – can I add speakers to this? Don’t want a cinema system with another DVD player!

Best answer:

Answer by “isitme”
You can’t just add speakers, you need an all-in-one home cinema system which includes DVD player OR preferably ,an AV reciever and speaker set up connected to a DVD or Blu-Ray system.

Any system will be compatible with your TV. Have a look at those on the link as a guide……

http://www.richersounds.com/information.php?cda=static&cst=homecinemasystems

No you need an AV receiver and speakers, the Blu-Ray is just a source, the sound needs an amplifier.

The link I provided gave complete systems, if you look further on the site you will find receivers and speakers available separately without a DVD player. Have a look at the Onkyo range and Q acoustics speaker packages.

Q&A: I have a Sony XBR 37 inch 1080p and the picture is not?

Question by TripleGemini73: I have a Sony XBR 37 inch 1080p and the picture is not?
as good as it was in the store. My Comcast box only goes to 1080i does that matter? It looked really good at the store that is why I decided to pay another $ 700 instead of going with the $ 588 tv I originally wanted but now I feel as if it is fuzzy. I got the new cables…am I doing something wrong or do I need to take it back and get the cheaper one? Please help me. Thank you.

Best answer:

Answer by bdh29
The picture you see in the store comes from a source at the store that feeds into all the tv’s, usually 720p or 1080i. Sony, however, uses their own box (which is usually out of sight) that feeds into the tv. This box is sending out the picture in 1080p, which is why it looks better at the store than at your home. Try playing a blue-ray or high-def dvd to see if the picture quality matches what you expected.
